Client Profile
The target group for the Brahminy programs is at risk young people (clients)
who present a range of issues which may include:
- Family breakdown
- Misuse of alcohol and other drug(s) - addictions
- Illegal activities
- Interpersonal relationships
- Literacy and numeracy
- Acting out and anti social behaviour, and
- Self destructive behaviour
Brahminy clients are either High to Medium Risk Adolescents (long term placement)
profiles are:
- Doing a form of substance abuse for example: alcohol, prohibited drugs
- Self harmers
- Physically violent to themselves and others
- Criminal activities
- Had a substantial trauma incurred upon themselves (physical and/or mentally)
- Anti social behaviour problems
- Expelled from the education sector
- Cannot work in the family dynamics at all
- Can suffer from medical conditions such as ADD, ADHD
Brahminy clients who are Medium to Low Risk Adolescent, early intervention
(short term placement) profiles are:
- First time offenders
- Developing anti social behaviour
- Suspended from the education sector, truancy
- Experimenting with substance eg alcohol, drugs
- Have been physical or mentally abused
- Starting to not work within family dynamics
- Can suffer some medical conditions
